Yes, I just took one apart myself. I see where you are going. The trouble is the existing socket is narrow and the opening diameter in the faceplate is only about 7/8”. The double USB socket replacement you showed earlier (post #12) needs a cutout size of 1.0625” based on online specs. Others as John mentioned need 1.125”. They will not fit the hole.
