270º Awning install?

We purchased the 2014 15A from the original owners and have a list of mods we want to do to it to make it more suitable for our propensity for traveling into parts unknown .

The original awning with its exterior support arms is going to go...and we'd like to install one of the many available 270º awnings with zip-on extensions/walls/screens to extend the living space when camped out in the same place for more than a couple nights.

I've searched and haven't found a thread where anyone has mounted a different awning to a 15 or 17...

Ideally, I suppose, using a backer plate inside the fiberglass would be the best approach but having said that I'd prefer not to remove interior to access the interior fiberglass wall for mounting. Otherwise threaded nut-serts or 'pop-rivets' should work OK as long as there are enough of them to distribute the weight/stress?

How do you plan to attach something made for right angles to something that is curved? You maybe limited to one on the awning side only and get an attacharoom addition to it only.

I haven't put a straight edge to the upper roof line but it would be easy enough to create a couple 'stand-offs' at each end to create a straight mounting line for the awning mount bracket. It doesn't appear to be a radical curve on the 15.
