5th Wheel Landing Gear

I know that assuming something can be hazardous, but I am assuming that the landing gear on the 5.0TA has pins in each of the legs to rapidly extend or retract the feet. Pulling pins and reinserting can be a pain. Camping World sells spring loaded landing gear pins in two sizes, 7/16-inch and 3/8- inch. Has anyone installed these on their 5th Wheel and if so, what is the proper size for the Escape. I would expect 7/16 is the correct size, but I'm not going to make more than one assumption in a single post! I'm curious because that would be one of the first mods I would make to a 5er.

Hi: C&G in FL... Since the landing gear ETI uses are electric and independent, there is no rapid extension, or retraction. There is no pulling pins or reinserting them.
We have owned an Escape 5.0 since 2008 and now a 5.0TA and always enjoyed the powered landing gear. My wife operates the landing gear while I operate the truck. It's as easy as pushing 2 buttons. Alf

With linked landing gear, manual extension of each side - such as with the pinned telescoping section, is necessary to accommodate uneven ground... but the Escape legs are independent.

Other 5th wheels have independent gear, but their legs usually still have the pinned telescoping section; because the Escape 5.0 (classic or TA) is so light, it doesn't use conventional landing gear - it uses power jacks that would usually be used on the tongue of a conventional trailer.

So, as Alf said, no pins to change the leg length. You don't have to deal with pins; you do need to wait for them to extend under power.

The legs do have removable feet.
