Funny you should notice that step. It is new--wider, deeper, more stable from front to back. The old one had to be replaced when it kind of got mashed, when I was maneuvering the trailer in the yard and forgot to bring the step away from the vehicle.: What's rule number one before towing any trailer---?? --- first, always do the walk-around!!

We had the Jack Benny inside us too, except I knew that we'd never build our own storage box like you did. I echo the earlier sentiments -- very impressive!

Myron: I agree the storage box is a bit pricey. I noticed you still have the batteries in the box. Did Escape still mount the batteries outside in the front? I'm thinking of doing as you did but I'll have to learn a bit about applying fiberglass coating.

Very nice nice Myron, I like the wooden top. Maybe you should consider making a couple more, I'm sure you would not have any trouble selling them to other Escape owners.
