That doesn't make sense based on the photos I've seen. The box extends all the way to the corners of the front of the trailer in the photos, completely covering up the vinyl protective corner covers. That'd make it about 8 feet across -- not less than 4 feet as these numbers suggest.

I just measured my box cover, it is 80" along the widest part, the rear and 48" along the narrowest part, the front closest to the propane tanks, I have a 21', not sure if that changes anything.

Don't have the 17B yet so can't verify, and I hastily copied and pasted from ETI's email, but a little common sense on my part would have caught the discrepancy! The 17 is 80" wide and the box seems to pretty much cover the front profile, so must have been a typo (77" perhaps?). Come to think of it, the other dimensions seem a little small as well, after looking at my latest build photos. Maybe Kim was quoting minimums, as all of the dimensions taper or otherwise vary across their distances.

Jim, what's the inside vertical dimension on the 21 box? Curious if our chairs will fit in there.

Whenever convenient. Won't care until the end of August!

There is another aspect if aesthetics are considered. The front of the trailer has very rounded corners. If the box width exceeds the point where the front starts to curve it looks like the box is "too big" for the front of the trailer.

That's why mine is 58" wide at the bottom rear. The top is smaller because the front of the trailer slopes outward and the rear of my box follows the contour of the trailer wall. (max. volume)

Anyway this is a 58" wide box for comparison.

On our 15 with the lid open it is 74 long at the back, 43 long at the front, 12 wide and 21 deep at the outside edges. I think theeasurements would be the same on a 17 but don't know about the bigger, wider units.

I think the box from ETI is the same for all models. At least, judging from the photos. You can tell that the 21 sticks out a little bit from the box on both sides, because it's a wider trailer. on the 17 and 15, it doesn't.
