That is the stereo we have in the Lark. I am pleased with it except for the RFI from the LED lights. The current antenna is a piece of wire that lays in the overhead cabinets above the reading lamps and the light over the kitchen sink. When we turn those lights on, the reception goes to heck in a hand basket. We were going go install an external antenna, but will be putting our 17b up for sale after we return home next month.
We have an HDMI cable that goes from the radio to the TV. Works great for playing DVDs. We are getting another 975 in our 21.

Hey,
Thanks for the review and the warning about the RF susceptibility.

Any thoughts about where to put this in a 21'
Looked at this pretty hard for our 21'. Only thing, it seems to be a non standard size. Not a double DIN. What to do when it dies and needs replaced with the next big thing? Where would you put this in 21'? Still thinking about it....

I am going to have Reace put it in the back if the cabinet used for the microwave, but facing the bed. That is assuming there is room there and I don't change my mind between now and July when the build sheet has to be final....

? I'm curious about putting in music equipment into trailers. I love music but am wondering about how quickly technology seems to change. Things seem to be getting smaller all the time and changing - I'm leery of putting something into a wall only to have it outdated.
So am thinking of simply using my mega big iPod and a small speaker (and the laptop for the occasional movie). So am I missing something. Or is it just a case of different strokes for different folks?
We have till July to finish our Buildsheet also.

As an example of where I am coming from: I've heard that DVD's are going the way of 8-tracks

I've got an 80 gig iPod Classic and an Altec-Lansing iPod dock.
They are already redundant, because my daughter gave me her "old" iPhone 4 and for Xmas, a JBL Bluetooth speaker. All my iTunes easily fit on the iPhone and the speaker doesn't require wires.
We could, if we had a decent data plan and the desire, watch Netflix on my wife's iPad, using the iPhone as a WiFi hotspot at our favorite campsite, which has cell coverage, but no radio or TV reception.
I'm depressed that I have an 80 gig iPod and no reasonable use for it. At least I don't have a hole.

That is exactly what we do. I've also got an adapter that lets us use the MacBook Pro as a TV the few times we are at a commercial RV place with cable TV hook ups. I think we have used it once...

We use our iPhone and bluetooth speaker for music and we haven't found the need for TV and movies yet. We spend a lot of time reading. Our needs may change though but by then technology will too.

We have the Ipod Classic with all or music on it--(use a small Bose unit at home) and in the trailer we use the factory stereo with the ipod--so good speakers... Only thing it doesn't charge the ipod--so just use a 12charge either in the car or trailer as needed...
We do take our laptop with us, but haven't gotten around to watching movies or anything else on it...

Like others, we use a bluetooth speaker with our IPhone and IPad. We like our Jambox from Jawbone located here: https://jawbone.com/speakers/jambox.

The Wirecutter is a great site for reviews and assessments of tech devices.
Link takes you to Bluetooth speakers, but go to Home as well to see reviews of TVs to hand mixers.

I'd be wary of any unit that doesn't have Bluetooth speaker capability. It would have to be at high volume to entertain outside the trailer and that could be problematic for other campers.

I use a bluetooth receiver that is about 1.5"x1.5"10.5", paired with my phone. I love being able to select something to play from where I sit, and even let others choose too. I have about 10,000 songs on my phone, so anybody will find something they like.
What I like about the receiver, is that I can hook it to any stereo with and input jack. I mostly use my jobsite radio, but also can use the stereo in the trailer, my stereo at home, the one in the vehicle, at a friends house, and so on. The only thing I don't like is the range is not so great, but the convenience is fantastic.
I most definitely would not put a stereo any other trailer I get.

I bought one of those when I bought my trailer, and it got used just once in 5 years with my laptop. We just don't care to watch TV that much when camping. We have in that time watched maybe a couple dozen movies on the laptop, which along with a set of USB speakers, worked great for us.

? are people pre-wiring for stereo for resale ? or is all this just becoming a thing of the past - cause I'm thinking in a few years most of us are going to be using computer/ipod technology .... unless you want an actual TV hanging in the trailer - which we've decided against.
Thoer - we have MacBook Pro also ? I thinking you don't need to do any prewiring into the trailer for anything - Its all wireless ?

I went wireless in my new unit, both the radio/iphone/ipod and tv play thru blue tooth speakers, in or out.

Leon, did you replace the original incandescent bulbs with LEDs? Have you tried turning on a LED light with the converter turned off? The converter is a know source of RFI.
