Kinda sorta...
A Fiber Stream has flat walls (no slope change at waist height), but the walls are not vertical: there is about two inches of width (or is it 2" per side, for 4" total width?) of difference from top to bottom, so it would come out of the mould. That's called "draft" in casting and mould design, and it must be accounted for in the cabinets. I don't think it's visually obvious, but Fiber Stream owners have described this wall slope in FiberglassRV discussions.

For the top and bottom of a 2017 Escape to have wall sections which line up in the same flat plane, that plane must be vertical and neither mould can have any draft in the side wall sections. I don't think a 2500 series Bigfoot has any draft in the sides, either. I wonder how difficult they are to part from the moulds.

The Fiber Stream does not have a waist-height seam like an Escape (and most other brands). It has been described as one-piece, but I think it actually has a seam at floor level, where the body turns under.

I would expect the same horizontal depth at the deepest point, but without the taper which the current cabinets have, so there should be more depth away from that deepest point.

Always thought Fiberstreams looked like fat bricks but there was something retro-cool about that. I tried to buy a used old Fiberstream online once. The owner said yes, then I could never get another response from him. It ended with me throwing bricks at a tree.

I think the Fiberstream looks like somebody had an idea and suddenly, it slipped their mind.

Has anyone made any modifications to accommodate art materials--specifically watercolors? I am trying to figure out where I'll put paints, paper, and wet paintings. Was able to use the back overhead bin in the Casita. Not sure how big the top cabinets are in the Escape. This is too much fun! Thank you all for your posts!

Hi Mrs. Trav, It's nice to see a fellow watercolorist in the group! Like you, I have so many questions and I am just beginning my build sheet for our 19 foot. The issue of space also crossed my mind, as I have an over abundance in art materials I would like to take with me. Part of the dilemma can be solved by really scaling down the art materials one brings. Consolidate. I have a very good compact travel system that I've organized over the past year.
One issue I wondered about, was the table height. Would this affect you at all in your painting process?. Are you considering altering the height and configuration of the dinette at all? I paint most of my watercolors inside... And my seat to table height might come into play here. Still must figure that one out.
Good luck!

Most of the time I am painting at the picnic table. If I am working on something that I need to stand over, I work at the side of the picnic table and put blocks under the gatorboard or use a small easel. Mr. Trav often takes up the table with a portable recording studio, so if it is rainy or too windy outside, I just curl up inside and sketch or read. Finding places for paintings to dry is the most difficult part for me. There aren't many flat surfaces that are large enough. I am going to ask ETI if there is a wall of the Escape that would hold a shelf that I could use for drying. We have been traveling in a Casita. I am hopeful that the extra two feet in the Escape will make things a bit easier.

Hang 'em

Mrs. T., Have you thought about one of those little retractable clotheslines? You can then clip the edges of hanging paper ( if it's not too drippy wet) with clothespins. You can Jerry rig it so it's rather close to the wall rather than in the walking path. I don't know if this would require extra reinforcement in the wall however. 'Just a thought that this ( or something similar ) may work as a possible option.

So, Addie, you ordered a 19' during the Feeding Frenzy last week? Good for you! I'd been wondering how your search was going and all that. Time to change your info on the left! Yay! Congrats! When's it due?

I plan to take some of my rubber stamping stuff with me in the trailer. I'll have pre-stamped images so I won't have to haul all that with me. Those and my carry tote filled with Copic markers. I also picked up a lap desk that's meant for laptops but I figured I could use it for coloring since we're not getting the table installed in our trailer. The lap desk has a sliding drawer on it that I can stash the stamped images in. It has a cushioned bottom covered with felt. We'll see how well it works once I start using it.

You'll probably want to reinforce that wall if you're going to add a shelf on it.
