Axle Modifications

Just wondering has anyone put bearing buddies or any other pressure
lubing system on their axles yet, if so are you happy with them?

Re: Axle Modifications

What is the purpose of this device Doug? The bearings should be packed good, with repacking needed not all that often. Curious to see how and what they do, do you have a link for them?

Re: Axle Modifications

Hi Jim

The bearing buddies just help protect the bearings allowing
you to lube them without taking the hub apart.
They were originally used for boat trailers but
now you find them on a lot of travel trailers.
I put them on the last trailer I welded up, filled
them and then never touched them for years, I checked
the bearings just before I sold the trailer and they were prefect.

Re: Axle Modifications

Interesting Doug. I had not heard of these before. I was thinking something very different at first.

Re: Axle Modifications

I have used them on a couple of boat trailers. You have to be careful not to pump in too much grease or it blows out the inner seals.

Thats the nice things about the new Bearing Buddy II with auto check,
it has a pressure relief system so you don't blow out the inner seal.
