Bath towel rack and tp holder
I have an Escape that was made before they put the new tp holders that are covered and under the sink. I took mine off the door and replaced it with one of those screw type suction cup holders. It has adhered for over a year, while my other ones come off from time to time. I got it at IKEA. I bought the towel rack there later and had to saw the bar to length. (I made it 15"). I then assembled it and based on my prior success with the tp holder, I expect it to stay. I do use the command hooks for smaller items. I also belong to the "No Holes Baglo" school.

I love those suction cups on fiberglass, even use a few outside for hanging towels to dry.

It took me a while to get to an IKEA, but finally picked up the basket, TP holder, and towel bar this morning. I can't believe how strong the suction cups are. I pulled so hard I thought the plastic would break before the cup came off the wall. Great tip, Sandra; thanks!

Orders can be made with IKEA online or by phone.

The TP holder does not appear on the US IKEA website...it does show up on the Canadian one but you can't log in using your US account... Is it carried in the US stores?

There were bunches of them in Renton, WA today. Not that it's right up the street from you.

These are sold at West Marine for around $32. Pricey but useful. You need very strong Velcro to hold it on.

Does anyone know which IKEA suction devices are better: IMMELN or STUGVIK?

I only fiddled with the Stugvik ones that I purchased. They were secure far beyond my expectations. No experience wih Immeln.

Postscript:
I ruled-out the Immeln since they require the use of a screw through the bathroom wall. Didn't want to drill through the fiberglass.

We went to IKEA (Coquitlam,BC store) last night and the Immeln and the Stugvik use the same suction cups, just different knobs to screw the suction cup tight. So Stugvik for the white plastic look and Immeln for the chrome look. And very good prices!

Maybe I'm missing something, but the installation pictograms for the IMMELN appear to show an adhesive attachment for smooth surfaces (shows a 12 cure time before use). It also shows a screw attachment option for wood walls. My mistake saying that they required a screw. However, it doesn't appear that they use a suction cup of any type that I can see.

They are;
IMMELN Shower/soap basket with hook - IKEA
but yes, I do see the 12hour wait time in the instructions, I think 'till you put any weight on it'.
The Stugvik has the same instructions.

I answered but the message said that a moderator would have to approve it.
I guess cause I included the hyper link to IKEA.
Anyways, the instructions for Stugvik and Immeln are the same and I think the the 12 hour timer means 'until you put the max weight on it'.
The back of the suction cup has threads and the wing nut looking thing on the Stugvik or the plain round knob on the Immeln, screw down onto it. Causing the center of the suction cup to be pulled from the wall, making the suction greater. If you put a screw through the center you would break the seal and never be able to use the suction mounting again but that is another way they show to mount it.
