One other thing this video shows, how much taller the foot flush is as opposed to the hand flush. Something for short people to think about ....

According to the Thetford site both styles are available in high and low profiles, and the heights are identical in each case.

We had a Casita with the foot flush and preferred it to the hand flush in my brother's camper. BUT in the Casita the toilet was set back from the front edge of the tank a few inches and on the Escape it appears to be right at the edge of the tank. So we will stick with the hand flush for our new 19.

My tip of the day: for flushing of the inside of the black tank, take a Wet Wipes or Lysol wipes container, open the flush lever and insert the wipes container between the handle and the toilet. It holds the lever in the open position while you spray the inside of the black tank.
With the foot lever, you'll have to hold it open with your foot, while using one hand to balance and the other to operate the wand.

Having never sat on my toilet, what is the general consensus on the height issue, high or low?

I, too, would prefer the foot flush, but I found somewhere a device that looks like a 6-inch piece of 2-inch PVC with wings on the side that drops into the toilet and keeps the valve open while I spray the inside of the tank.

I read somewhere that you can damage the seals by using an object to hold the trap open.
