Hi Rapha,
What a beautiful picture, its amazing the amount of wild life and plant life the desert holds. I long for the openness, the big beautiful sky, the clean crisp mornings, the smell of fresh rain on the desert floor. Ahh the silence is deafening.
You are going to love it in your new trailer.

Hi Lynn, We have one of these, but haven’t used it yet. We won it in the raffle at the Eggshells on The Outerbanks Fiberglass Rally in October. We saw several of them deployed and they do a real slick job. The top of the shade slides into the same groove that currently holds your black awning strap. Simply slide the strap to the other side and slide the screen onto the opening in the groove. The bottom of the shade is staked to the ground with bungees and tent stakes. It blocks 85-90% of UV rays.

Speaking of Tin's thread title, there are no bears in the desert - so does this mean Tin et al are bears? Or have pet bears?

Hi Ron,
Hopefully with this pole design I can just pull the pole ends off the awning, leave the screen up and intact while retracting my awning for the night.

I have ETI 160 watt solar and as long as I park Bear(5.0TA) heading north with the 5.0 TA natural 6 % slope towards the rear we get all the solar we can use. but with that said when I am done with my aluminum solar panel tilt mount and can achieve a 50 degree angle for winter and increase 30 to 40% output hopefully.

Oh lucky you Steve
This is a product we are definitely interested in purchasing before heading to sunnier climates!

At the Rally, our trailer was facing south and our awning was pulled out to the west. It was our only shade. After midday, the setting sun rapidly dipped below our awning. Our sitting area had a ‘shrinkage problem’ and we yearned for a shade panel. When our number was called, we had No Doubt on our selection. Alas, it was the final night of the Rally and haven’t needed it since. But that day will come!

I picked up one of the Shadepro's for use in AZ this winter, kept moving our chairs around the trailer last year to keep in the shade. I've heard of using gallon jugs instead of the stakes as hold downs.

Good idea, Bob! Jugs travel empty and light and no stakes in the ground or lawn.

Home Depot in Baja and SoCal sell a very similar material.
My wife hemmed it with a small diameter cord so that it can slide in the awning track. In this case it's doing emergency duty shielding the fridge from the sun.

I agree. I've been playing with solar panels for the last 25 years and inclining them has measurable benefits.
