Bed and Dinette Cushions

On my current non Escape trailer we've had to add 3" memory foam on top of the 4 or 5" foam used for the bed to make it comfortable enough to sleep through the night as well as replacing the original seat cushions with higher density foam. When I, at 210 lbs, would sit down I'd bottom out on the board underneath the cushion. Don't remember the seat being an issue when it was new, but it didn't take too many years before it started. Yes, it could be the sitter and not the seat.
So the questions are, if you have a permanent bed, have you had to bolster the original?
How are the seat cushions? Not concerned with the backs, just the seats. I saw someone had ordered 5" over 4" as an option. Are there zippers on newer cushions just in case?

After 5 years our bed mattress is getting a bit softer, and my hips will just press to the bottom when laying on my side. We are likely going to look for a new matress over the winter, though the original is still serviceable.

The seat cushions are still doing us just fine.

Thanks Jim, I'd really prefer not to have to lug our memory foam topper all the way to Chilliwack.

Unless the rules have changed (again), you will probably take possession of your trailer in Sumas, Washington. There is a Costco in Bellingham (as well as a WalMart ) to pick up any items you may need.

The mattress in our Escape is better then the one in our house. Leave your memory foam at home.

We also have the standard 4" cushions and weighing in at 210 also I find them fine. We have a friend that got the 6" cushions but for use that would raise us to weird height to the table.

When I sat in the Escape 19 last week I paid attention to the cushions (standard) and for my height (5'8") it was fine looking out the windows. I also found that there was very little give (I weigh around 130)and my feet just grazed the floor -- but of course that depends on how far back one sits. If the seat cushions had been thicker, it wouldn't have been good for me. It's good to know that the seat cushions are good for someone heavier because Terry weighs more than me. We'll definitely need throw cushions for our backs.
