In the picture can you find the modification?

That's it I added a small storage cabinet under the furnace for shoes storage. The cabinet inside dimension are 14 inch's wide X 15 inch's high X 11 1/2 deep.

Very nice! Am curious as to why that isn't part of the original construction as it seems to be unused space...

What is the door size? is it a standard size used elsewhere on the 19' or did you have it custom made?

If anyone is thinking about making this modification there are few things that have to be done for it to work. One you have to move an LP supply line for the furnace. Two you have to re-route three wires and I moved the LP detector to the other side of the trailer .The total cost for this modification was about $60 dollars.

They put the microwave under the stove at the factory when you have the 6.7CF fridge -- you lose a bit of kitchen storage, but they include the extra drawer under the wardrobe at no charge. We opted for no microwave, so the kitchen storage is unchanged.

Nice, I've been looking at that space also. Was thinking of either putting in a medicine cabinet for the bathroom into that space or a door like yours.

Did you make your door? I don't have the 15* router bit for that modified Shaker style but I've come to the conclusion that a doevetail bit would do much the same. A little more work but for a one off, doable.

Hi Ron,
No I did not make the door I order it from ETI the door cost was $35 dollar plus $12.00 S & H this also included all the hardware for the door. I looked at this way a door that matched perfectly with the rest of the trailer was well worth cost.

Sorry I missed your post yes it a standard size ETI door the dimensions are 11 wide X 12 1/4 high. This door is the same as the ones used under the sink area of a Escape 19.

Thanks Mark. Well for that price, including hardware, as much as I like making everything myself, it would be hard to justify the cost of materials and time. Thanks for paving the way for this project. I'd already previously removed the water tank switch and propane detector and peaked inside that space and it looked doable but you've confirmed it.

Another item for the to-do list, right after installing my new light over the dinette.

If your time is worth anything, you actually save money doing it. I have all the machinery and cutters to may a door like this, ans likely all the materials at hand, but it would take me about $150 of my time to set up, build it, finish it, then clean up.

For lots of the custom cabinetry we build for customers, very often we just order the doors for them, saving us and the customer a good chuck of change.

Now, if I was retired, and needed a project, totally different story.

Jim, I get enjoyment from designing and building stuff. Very rarely do I calculate the value of my time at the kind of charge out rate that I'd charge if I was doing it for a living. Good thing for all the people that I voluntarily build stuff for, they wouldn't be able to afford me.

This cabinet door, at that price, is a rare example for me when it just makes sense to buy it.

While I am working, I set a value for the time I spend with almost everything I do (sort of), short of spending time with friends and family, or if it is restful therapeutic time for myself.

I have so much work that I could do, where I would make decent money, so I just attach that rate to other tasks. Something like building this door could be therapeutic, but I have a ton of these kinda things I could do, I just have to choose which one to take on.

Hi Jim,
I 100% agree with on your above statement. I to am blessed in a way where I could be working day and night. I have to be very carefull in balanceing my work load or it will run me over.

Is that a drawer below the mirror? Is that part of the original build, or a modification?
