Re: Carpet, Doormat and Bathmat

I must say, you all have answered my question well, and provide good reasons to get a draining mat for the bath.

HokieEscape - Did you use the 1'x1' tiles? - I can't tell for sure from the picture. I looked online, but the minimum order is 12 tiles.

Since it has holes in it to allow the water to drain away from your feet, some don't like it (very tender feet may not), but I like drying off and not standing in puddles. We place a small white bath mat over it so it's warm for your little "tootsies" in the middle of the night, and just remove it for showers. When you get home from your trip, pull it out, and clean the tub floor, and you're ready for the next trip. Here's what it looks like in blue. (note the access for the drain plug - make sure it's tight if you have anything in your grey tank while traveling, or else you'll have grey water sloshed all over your normally dry bath- and wonder "where did that come from"?)

Eric, you can get Dri-Dek at a marine supply store (such as West Marine) by the piece. For our 19' Escape, it took 4 titles to cover the shower floor.

Here is a link to a similar product. I believe you can order any number. There is an "800" # on the web site. The supposed advantage is that you can get "tiles" with a smooth top for those with delicate "tootsies".
However, I have not yet made the leap, and was inclined to try Tammy's idea of cutting up one of those playroom tiles that are about 2' x 2".

Eric,
Yes, they are 1X1. And we love them. I saw them for sale yesterday in an Ace Hardware store in Corolla, NC (Outer Banks), for sale by the square. Yep, don't need more than you need : - )
