CloZures RV Door Window Shade kit
The latest Trailer Life has an article about a entry door window kit with two layers of glass and a internal shade that operates with a handle. Has anyone installed anything like this? If so, can you give me a short review on the experience and what product it was? Or better yet, go to the rally and show me the results? Thanks.

CloZures RV Door Window Shade kit
I was looking at this same product a few days ago after the frosted lining peeled off our glass. Their website states the shades are made for a 22” x 12” window. Our dimensions are smaller. I plan to contact them next week to see if they can make the shades for our door.

Wow. They just don't make things like they used to. I imagine it's a regular headache at Escape dealing with vendors with quality problems.

Several owners have removed the door glass frosting and installed their own glass accents https://www.amazon.com/Artscape-Clem...1HMHVFP6EEE5RZ

Reace told me that the doors arrive with a clear tinted glass, and ETI installs the frosted film. I cleaned off the residue with Awesome Cleaner from The Dollar Store.
I kinda like the ability to look out the door. That’s why I was looking into these sliding shades.
We shall see...

Interesting concept, but looking at it, it does not appear to be that great of a quality item. Your turn to go first, Fred.

While not a bad replacement option, and something that might look nice from the inside, I am not sure I would care to look at it from the outside.
The laminated vinyl sheet that produces the obscure effect of the entry window is peeling on our trailer, and my brother's 19 too. I have considered replacing it, but have not really researched options yet. I don't care that it has the option to be clear so we can see through, as we would never look out the window there very much anyway. Folks coming to the trailer can easily be seen through the kitchen window.
Interested though to see how other solutions pan out as opposed to just replacing the vinyl laminate.

Our window is currently just fine. But hubby likes the idea of a blind for the window that we can open and close.

I have seen Casitas with this decor, be it a film or an actual glass replacement, and they look very nice.
Myself, I prefer the simple clean look.

Hi Mary...
I would have been perfectly fine with our window too, had it not started to peel off. But then, I would not have discovered the blinds. :-)

Well , this guy originally created the shades for boats, and then moved towards RVs.
OK. I will see if he will make me one for our size door. You never know, right?
p. s. I gotta sign up for Winnipeg!

A couple more options I just found.
This first one seems to be a popular modification. The light that comes through the door window is not much of an issue for us. I only want a wee bit of privacy. One thing I discovered with this one is that you have to open the the door to operate it, as you can't do so through the screen door, something the first solution does allow for.

This second one seems to be more up my alley. Simply a black tempered glass allowing one to see out, yet obscures seeing in. No moving parts and looks good.

There you go. I can check it out at the Boler 50th, if I am not too busy having fun.

This is what our 2017 21’ TT looks like without the frosted film.
In the daytime, you cannot see in from the outside because the glass is tinted. But you can see in at night if the lights are on inside.

Good reminder, ours has peeled off too and I've not yet made a fix. My plan was to cut out a piece of quilting plastic template covered with cloth to fit within the frame. Easy to remove when you want the view.
Also lots of frame space to put a tension rod and curtain.

I tried a small curtain in the window, but it was a pain to go outside, close the screen door, close the curtain and go back in since the door window can't be accessed through the newer doors' screen door. So scrapped that idea and used a longer spring tension rod between the kitchen and dinette upper cabinets. Tucks away during the day to let light in and easy to pull at night for privacy. Hum, can't figure out how to rotate picture 3, just wanted to show that the curtain was out of the way of the door.

Thanks that will be the very next mod I do. We taped some paper towels to our window to keep the sun out while we were up in BC and Montana. Odd to have the sun shining in after 9pm at night.
But it does occasionally shine in down here so the curtain will prove to be handy.

My son who is 6'4" was traveling w me. I used the same tension rod and put it through a piece of gray pipe insulation right at door level. He didn't bump his head once. I'm just going to leave it there as it didn't move during travel and isn't in the way.

We were bothered by the bright glow of the window in the early morning hours, so my wife sewed a piece of velcro to each corner of a brown placemat, then put a piece in each corner of the window using double sticky velcro. We just stick it up each night, and we are done until after we get up in the morning.
