Coat hanging hooks - prototype testing
Gave up on every kind of hook I could find in retail stores - the 3M Command series (medium size) is rated for a measly 3 pounds, and didn't really fit where I wanted them anyway.
Proto hook is 1 inch wide, taped to another panel held by a vise. Holding a 10 pound weight after 4 hours, a 72 hour cure (3M spec) should hold 40 pounds based on 2 square inches of tape.
Wifey approved, installing tomorrow to hold wet coats between the bath wall and entry door of our 21.

This forum is just loaded with life-long learning. In just the last three days I've learned several new terms including; lefse, lutefisk, poutine, animal fries, tripletripleanimalpro and skookum. What will tomorrow bring?

PNW word: Strong, powerful. All good stuff. Native American (Chinook) derivation (I had to look that part up). A very, very good word. I guess I don't even think about it being local jargon as it's just part of our (at least my) vocabulary.
Edited: Now I'm trying to think of a good English synonym and cannot come up with the right one for the life of me. All I can do is clench my fists and say, "Mnn." That's skookum.

I like that too. Going to name it that when I put it up on my website as a product - "Snookum Hook"
So if I get an email from Karen she gets a couple sized to her specs free..........

Each is hand made without set dimensions, but this one is 1 inch wide, has 2 inches vertical contact with the wall, and is heat-formed around a 3/4 inch diameter dowel. Material is 3/16 inch ABS, tape is 3M RP-45 VHB.

Yah, one of the local restaurants with a Native theme has a Skookum burger, egg and wiener etc., puts a fat burger to shame.

Skookumchuk Narrows Provincial Park - another use of this term - an worthwhile sight to take in for those travelling to BC's Sunshine Coast area.

I'm originally from New England (left in 85) so I would have called it "wicked good hook." There's some local dialect for you. Of course, if you walked too close to it, caught your shirt on it and tore your shirt, you would probably just call it "no good damned hook!" Or something more colorful.....
Very cool Charlie. I give you a thumbs up!
