Re: Creating more problems / installing weather instruments

Because the proper saw bit will run me $30 and because my drill press is a flimsy device that you attach your drill to, and because my drills are too small to accept the shank on the bit anyway, I've decided to take a door off and take it to a proper woodworking shop and have them drill the holes.

It was neat to get up this morning and see that the barometer had risen considerably and that we were in for a day of sunshine.

I've got all the equipment too! I'd love to help you do it. Southwest Virginia is just a little over 2500 miles. Come on! Nice drive

Thanks guys. I may take you up on the offer, if I can't find a shop here to do it for a reasonable price.

Re: Creating more problems / installing weather instruments

Guy at woodworking shop said he'd drill the holes for $20. He has a hole saw and drill press. I think I'll install them in the cupboard door above the fridge ( we went with 5cu. ft. fridge and cupboard - no microwave ).
I just used tape to hold them in place for the pic. They'll be recessed into the door.

That will look great Glenn. I would space them just a wee bit more though.

Re: Creating more problems / installing weather instruments

I was afraid the tape would fail so I didn't spend a lot of time working on spacing. I'll work on that when I have the door off and can easily move them about. I was also thinking about putting them in the cupboard door above the wardrobe. In that case, I think I'd group them to the right, rather than centre them, since the door is wider.
