Entry Steps
The pull out step is a little awkward according to my wife and even the dog. From the ground to the step is approximately 7" and from the step to the Escape approximately 11". I made a very quick and dirty 2-step setup. The step heights are 6-1/4" and the steps are 12" deep. There are elevator screws under the 4 corners of the first step to allow adjustments for uneven ground. Now the wife and dog are happy.

Looks good Rick maybe ETI would offer this step as a factory option.

Nope, no folding steps (yep, maybe). This was a quickly made project made with only a basic tool, a circular saw and a 2'x4' sheet of 3/4" plywood. I'll have to give some thought for a good design, but for now it serves it purpose.

Great idea! I won't know if I'll need more than one step until I get my 5er, but I'll certainly keep this in mind.

hahahaha, fat chance Rick. Besides, I don't get my trailer until the end of June. But, I really like this double step idea.

I do too. My dog is having difficulty so I use a resin side table with the legs shortened. (My son did that for me to use for the dog to get into my mini-van 1st.) But it goes over the bottom step. I still need something for the top step and this set-up looks ideal.

I made this step from PVC fencing and fence posts. Also made one to fit in the bathroom shower pan, so when using the facilities my feet are at the same height as the floor of the toilet. It gets removed when I take a shower.

Rick you should make the step re-track under the door. You might need some lighting.

Chuck, I actually been thinking of adding a small LED strip to illuminate the step area. There is a light switch on the left side of the doorway (as you enter) for the outside light. Now the problem is to run wires from this switch to the LED light. I'll be exploring two ways.
One run wires from the switch down and through the floor to the LED. This way assumes I can get access to the hollow door fame near the floor.
The other way is the run wires down from the switch, then into the cabinet space under the sink. From there drill through the cabinet floor and then the trailer floor. Problem is the hot and cold water lines under the trailer (going to the sink) and the gray water tank present some issues.
The hollow door frame also contains the gray water vent line, which is a flexible hose. Don't want to penetrate it.
If it can be done, I'm going to do it.

The problem with only using the switch is that you may only have a positive wire switch. I'm thinking of tapping into the kitchen lights and running a wire down thru the pole, it is hollow and then down under the sink to the bottom of the door and install a bullet type similar to what I did on my Escape 19.

Jim, there are 2 switches on the door frame: one for the overhead light and the other for the outside light. I pulled the outside light switch off and saw that the other wire is there, plus the gray water vent line.

Rick you should consult CPH for routing your wiring and adding lights.

Anyone know the source for the single step ETI uses? I need to replace it with a double step (wifey has bum knee) but the outriggers (mounting rails) are only 22 inches overall width which won't work with aftermarket 24 inch wide steps.ETI won't option the 2-step and I'd like to ship them one to install for our 8/22 pickup date instead of the single step

I could not find a good replacement either, you may have to stick with a bring along step to use.
