Re: External Lights, Added exterior rear and driver's side lights
Well, I'll have to take a different point of view. I have a rear view camera on the trailer that I used for over 20K miles & 130 days of travel. The 5" monitor sits on the dash in the lower left corner of the windshield. It is about the same size & on the same plane as the exterior rear view driver's side mirror and I don't find it any more distracting than the standard rear view mirror. I find it useful for determining if someone is behind me, backing in gas stations, if someone is passing me, etc. I use both the mirrors & the monitor.
As to using it for parking the trailer in a campsite, I've found it is not all that useful. It is too wide an angle for close maneuvering. I still hop out & look rather than depend on the camera. I do have a second camera on the back of the RAV4 & find it valuable for hitching.
