For those of you..

For those of you who removed the exhaust hood over the range top what did you cover the exhaust vent with? I removed mine and installed a double LED light in it's place but want to cover the exhaust vent with something but don't want to drill into the soft wall behind the cook top.

I'm considering doing this on my 17, so am interested also. Do you have any photos of what the wall looks like after removal?

Removing the stove hood is a real popular mod on the CasitaForum. Typically, folks put in computer fans in a box of some sort so there's still a vent of sorts. Might as well use the electrical wires and you have a vent cutout that doesn't seal 100% tight... use that too. One of the best is where someone used an aluminum baking sheet and cut it to be the length of the top cabinet (needed to protect that cabinet), painted it white and remounted. It was hardly noticable, but effective. They also used the fans I referenced earlier. I suppose I can post one picture... Gene won't wack me for that, but I can't scoop the entire thread.
