Fridge Door Panels Swap

We are thinking of changing out the wood panels to something more colourful. I am looking for tips from those of you that have done this.

On top top of the doors there is a strip of plastic with 4 slots in it, how much force is needed or is there a tab that is pushed to release it?

Thanks

Hi Islandr,

It's super easy to pop off. We changed ours from wood to metal. There is no tab to push, just pull gently and evenly and it will pop right up.

Where did you source the metal to slip in?

It is one of the first things we did to our trailer. The Formica/Arborite type product matches the counter top I redid and the new table I made.

2 ft x 4 ft sheets of Formica/Arborite are available from our “Rona” building supply store here in Kelowna for aprox $6 per sheet. I would imagine that your Kamloops store has some as well.

I assume these small sheets are made from larger damaged sheets...if you see a colour or texture you like...get it...you may never see it again.

They also come in different thicknesses. The thin stuff you can cut with heavy duty scissors.

We like how those images brighten a space

2020 19 Stainless Edition

Ill be sliding a piece of Polished 18 Gauge 304 Stainless Steel sheet in there. It will look great with the SS sink, SS stovetop, SS range hood, SS captains lights, SS 12 volt fans, SS light switch and plug covers..........

No, just heavy poster paper with a glossy laminate. When I did this with my 17, I dry mounted the print to 1/8" foam board. This time I just slid the photos in front of the already existing paneling.

I used Poster Brain to do the printing for both the 17 & 21. While the print was OK, they no longer do matte laminates (which I had with the 17), and their glossy was poorly done - some bubbles that could not be removed. I would not recommend them, but haven't found a good replacement.

While I would suggest checking since Dometic is famous for making changes without changing model numbers, the size I had printed for my 2017 6 cu ft refrigerator were 20.75" X 15.875" for the freezer, and 20.75" X 36.625" for the lower panel.
