This sentence reminds me of a time long ago when I was an insurance underwriter. We had an application for a "Cheverolet two-door coupe" driven by a 16 year old boy. Close examination of the VIN showed it to be a a Corvette. While Hot Fish Tacos did install a larger fridge, it is not your average fridge :-)

We decided to wait until late March to take delivery rather than February 2nd. We have to cross some high mountains to get there and get back - the Rockies and the Cascades to name a few - and didn't want to deal with the heavier snow and coldest weather.

Being more chicken than rbryan4, we are waiting until early May to make the southbound drive from Chilliwack to Denver. Here in Colorado April is frequently the second or third snowiest month of winter. And this will be my first drive with a trailer bigger than 600 pounds. I'll suffer in silence... Well - maybe not the silence part.

ATHiker, you'll be there 2 days ahead of us. I'd suggest the "southern" route back to Chatanooga (OR, CA, AZ, NM,TX, LA , etc) but what do I know...

I think you are right about taking the "southern" route. Definitely will avoid bad road conditions.

Some of the most challenging road I encountered was heading west from Idaho into Washington. I don't recall the road, but we eventually crossed the border into Canada at Nighthawk.
My buddy and I ( two trailers ) got stuck behind a tandem gravel truck. He would use the pull-outs ( as required ), but they were only about 200 feet long, so he was re-entering the lane before I had a chance to pass.
I put the hammer down one time, he's coming into my lane and the road is curving left. I had no choice but to hit the brakes, since I couldn't see if there was oncoming traffic around the corner.
I came to my senses and just settled in behind him at about 15 MPH.

And, the Canadian border station appeared to have been vacated. The gate was open. Sat there like a dutiful Canadian for about five minutes before the border guard came out.
