Still they are different formulations, but very safe to use.
Read and watch the U tube about Struvites and you will understand better what is causing the probes to not work correctly.

After several years of using our 17, when I would clean out the black tank with water spray, some detergent and the left over bleach from sanitizing the fresh lines, I could always see a clean black plastic bottom. I think the struvites the guy in the Tank Techs video is showing are much more likely to develop in the tanks of very large RV that people live in. I think for most of us with Escapes, the grey or black tanks don't stay full long enough for a beneficial colony of bacteria like Tank Techs are selling to become established. I imagine it could work very well for larger RV systems, especially for full timers who stay in one place for long periods of time.
The relatively small tanks in Escapes need to be emptied often enough that I'd be surprised if many Escape tanks had solid crystals like he is showing.
In my experience our black tanks got inaccurate from toilet paper sticking to the sensors and the grey tanks from grease build up. I had very good luck cleaning the grease out of the grey tank with Simple Green or PineSol. Most any detergent or water spray seemed to clean out the small black tank easily.

In my personal opinion, but based on personal experience, similar to Eric's, this is a whole lot of sales hype by a company trying to promote their products as the do all and end all of holding tank maintenance.

Hi: C&G in FL... IMHO Horst or no Horst I'm still doing "The Geo Method". A slick tank works best and we use the same TP in the "Tee Pee" that we use at home. Lately I've found that the best probiotics in yogurt make it necessary for me to go before I'm ready to go public. I just add extra water to the bowl. It all comes out in the end. Alf

I agree. Holding tank maintenance is ridiculously easy, and there's very little evidence that one product or technique is dramatically better than another. Add to that the smallish tanks in an Escape, and whatever product or method you use should work just fine.

We have the regular probes which sometimes after a few fill and dump cycles of the black tank will give a false reading, usually partially full when tank is empty. We found the simplest fix is when travelling to our next camp after dumping is to put 5 - 10 gallons of water in the tank and drive, the sloshing water always fixes the problem. In retrospect I'm not sure I even view this as a problem.
Cheers
