Hub Odometer

We'll be picking up our new Escape 21' in late June/early July. I'd like to install a hub odometer on our trailer at that time.
Is anyone using a hub odometer on their trailer now, or have you in the past? If so, can you please suggest a brand/model?
Thanks,
Mike

With the electronics in vehicles today, is it possible to program the tow vehicle to record mileage when it is towing, in addition to when not towing.

With my new F-150 I don't even have to do that. I select trailer towing and it automatically records my towing miles.

Perhaps the OP isn't towing with a vehicle that has all the fancy technology?

BUT, isn't ETI still installing E-Z Lube axles? If so, I don't think a hub odometer can be installed.

Back in the day, I kept a small notebook with similar information for my Scamp. Wrote down the mileage for trips. Since I didn't tow the trailer 12,000 miles in a year, it just got a 'yearly' checkup for the brakes and bearings.

But, I kinda like the technology in my F-150

There are several brands of hubdometers out there just goggle search and choose which one you want to use. They have brackets you can purchase that will fit over the EZ lube hubs

NW Cat Owner was looking into the hub odometer once up on a time, could drop her a pm and see if she found one.

We're on our fifth trailer since we purchased our 2015 F150. I have named each trailer in the F150's computer: Casita, Cougar, Bigfoot, Lance, and now Escape. Yes, that's five! I can go into the F150's computer and see how many miles each trailer was towed. Great feature!

Enjoy,

Perry

While a hub-mounted odometer would be in the way of using the E-Z Lube feature, there is no need to use that feature. The E-Z Lube grease cap shouldn't prevent odometer installation. When properly inspecting and servicing the hubs the odometer would be removed with the wheel (if using the most typical style of mounting) or the grease cap (if mounted that way).
