I now have more floor space in my 19'
I have been using the space under the benches quite a lot and moving the table back and forth was a bit awkward. So, I took the table out. It felt nice and spacious, but we didn't want to use TV trays, so I started making something to fit and fold.
However, it was trickier than I thought, until my nice sister said she had a marine drop leaf table that never fit their boat that I could have!!. (nice sister $300 oak table!) Since the walls on the escape are curved, I extended the top to make a mini-table when it is closed, for coffee or other beverages (!!). And it can open up to table big enough for two. see photo.

That looks like a great setup, Greg. Are you able to make the dinette into a bed if needed still?

Thanks, Jim
I am making a couple boards to fit between the holders that will store under the bench. So yes, it will be a few inches smaller though. and I might have to get a custom cushion made.

Your table looks a lot nicer than the hinged table, but would the hinged table accomplish the same thing?

How did you address the floor issue? I see you have something on the floor?

Hi all:
Ruthe: I just searched for the hinged table...I guess it's not an accessory from Escape trailers?? I saw a link that cpa Jim provided...If it comes off the wall to make the second bed, that seems like a good idea, but when folded up it might not have a mini-table I think will be handy.
thanks Carol...we will test it out soon.
Jim: I was going to just putty the holes and put a rug over it, but maybe I should do your approach with the laminate flooring!...would look better.

Looks nice! Looks like you can put your feet up to recline very easy. Is it attached in some way? If not, it should for when you brake (or accelerate).

Hi Gary, I put corner brackets attached to the floor and made some wooden supports that attach to the bench supports....hopefully that's enough. and the drop leaf has a built in catch to secure it to itself.
I'll let you all know of any bugs.

I like the idea, CW has something similar, only $99 http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...ll-table/44376
it certainly opens up the area, doesn't it?

Very nice. Great idea. I was thinking something similar with a moveable table I spotted in a friend's motorhome.

My trailer has a sofa in place of a front dinette. We have lots of floor space.

Ikea has a table just like that. I have one in my den and fold it up when I'm not using it. It measures 26" x 26".

Any chance you might have a link to the Ikea table, Gregg? Given the size of their on-line catalog, it could take days to find unless you knew where to look. Thanks!

found it!.....the below link looks like the one I altered. And, because it has a base to it I did not need to mount to the wall. I attached it to the sides of the bench and corner braced it to the floor. There is just enough room for the electric box to open...However, there's only one problem with size...you still have to squeeze by on the bathroom side of the trailer when the table is up and it's pretty tricky to set up the table when sitting on that side....but we love the extra space. And I plan to get some custom pillows to make a small bed...one day!
