I'm A Fan

I am a fan of the fan I installed today. I was installing lighting in all the cabinets so decided to install this while doing the wiring. We have a fan running 24/7 in our bedroom, and was concerned with circulating either heated or cool air into the loft. Some folks said it was no big deal, and others I talked to did use some kinda fan for loft air circulation

It is a Caframo Sirocco. It as three speed settings, and a timer. Not too noisy at all, especially on low speed which still moves a fair bit of air.

You can see it in use here. It is on a gimbal mount that rotates on all three axes. You can also see the lit up cabinets too. Each door has it's own switch, which you can see here. Dinette cushions are up in the loft to be out of the way to accessing under the benches.

This is the fan stowed out of the way.

All the upper cabinets had a wide face frame so I could drill a hole for the switch, but the wardrobe and two other cabinets only had a 3/4" face frame so I had to build a bracket to hold the switch.

Yes I did. The purpose of this one is to circulate air inside, not exchange air.

Gotcha, sort of like operating the max fan with the hood shut. I like a small fan in the bed area when it is not hot enough for the a/c but too hot to sleep comfortably without air movement.May has to look not one of these.

Caframo makes a heck of a good fan (as long as it's one made in Canada and not a knock-off). The Bora me del we had overhead at the foot of our bed moved a bunch of air.

A bit of an update on this fan. It gets used a lot. Whether going for a nap in the midday sun, or on that warm evening. I can't imagine not having it. The MaxxFan is great for exchanging air, this fan woks much better and circulating it.

Good thing it has a safe fan blade, as I turned it on in the middle of the night on night last week, and Lisa did not realize it and stuck her had into it when getting up.

She's the one that pushed for it. Originally that was to be my side, but the bath hides the driver's side dinette light better when I get up early and turn it on, so she took that side.

Besides, I don't think she will do that again. I got hit by the blade few times adjusting the direction of the fan, and finally figured out to turn it off before I did so.

One advantage the 17s have over larger trailers is the Maxx Fan can achieve a much higher air exchange rate than they do with the larger trailers with many more cubic feet of space. So much so that you can achieve the same "breeze" created by the circulation fans just by manipulating which window you open, all without another appliance to hit your head on!

We both (especially Lisa) like the feel of air flowing over us, whisking await some sweat. The nice thing about this fan being able to be aimed in any direction is yo can point it so it circulates, but does not blow in your face.

Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but we imagine even in real cold weather it will be nice to circulate some of the heated air up there.

For the cost, $110 CAD shipped, one of the best purchases I feel I made for the trailer.

A bit of a follow up after using our trailer all this summer so far without being on the grid, and unable to use A/C. This fan has proven to be a fantastic addition to the trailer. So far the main use has been daytime naps, where the loft is a little warm this little fan adds that nice breeze across the body allowing for a very nice snooze. We have both used it a lot. I highly recommend one.

I ordered it off of eBay for $107.09, and I see one now for $139.99. It could be the same seller too, as they were in Nova Scotia.
