Lagun Table base without U-dinette?

I am considering installing a Lagun system on my 19 - it does not have a U-dinette. I am wondering if anyone else has done this and if so how. I could see mounting the base near the back of one of the dinette seats or putting a beefy 2" laminated plywood structure across the front between the two dinette seats, then mounting to that. I'd rather not screw through the floor if I can avoid it. I have the snap 2 base now, but it's a little big for the space.

Bill,

I ended up installing the Lagun base in my 19 and am very happy with this. All kinds of flexibility, and now I have room to get in and out of both sides of the dinette easily. I also take the top off to convert the dinette into a bed for my son.

Not sure if you can see but I had to built a vertical "wall" between the seats to mount the base to, then added back the bed filler piece with a hole in it for the Lagun mount to pass through, as extra support. It is screwed down.

Also I used the stock table slide setup that I got from Escape to help with the flexibility.
