Lagun Table Mount Install - Thoughts

I don't think a wood-framed RV is a problem as long as they are manufactured well in the first place and seam maintenance is kept up.

I was not referring to being wood framed, but having a wood frame (you know, the structure the shell is mounted on ).

Though the structural integrity of framing with wood on a mobile vibrator will never be as good as something like the solid shell of a moulded fibreglass trailer.

For those that have installed a Lagun table mount, and like me are a bit lazy about loosening the locks when you spin the arm or table, you may after a year or so find the table taking on a tilt, particularly if you have one of the heavier teak tables. I contacted Lagun, USA, and they sell a 2 pack of replacement sleeves for $15.00 plus shipping.

Getting the old ones out & the new ones in is a bit difficult, but doable. Be sure to put the "Top" in the right direction (opposite each other) and the notch in the direction indicated with the directions.

Using the stock table in the U shape dinette do you have enough vertical movement to lower the table into “bed” mode? And underway, is the Lagun mount stable enough to leave the table in the up position? Thanks, Scott

No, you must remove the vertical support - it is taller than the seats. I do leave the table set up while traveling with the locks tightened.

Don't know about the stock table, but this is how I travel with the Lagun mount and a heavy teak table.
Doesn't seem to move at all

Thanks, gives me a better visualization of the mount. While we don’t use the dinette bed often, looks like it will still be easier then the double pole mounts. Good to know that it is stable enough to leave the table in the up position and having the option to lower it onto the cushion for the bad frost heave sections of road. Scott

Here are photos of our Lagun Table Mount with the standard U-Shaped table top. The standard table top is surprisingly light. We did have ETI cut all 4 table top corners the same. I removed the ETI sliding mechanism when I installed the Lagun mount as I found it to be unnecessary for our needs. Because the table top is so light we feel comfortable traveling with the table in the "up" position. We also find it way easier to convert into a bed than with the standard table post set-up. The Lagun is by far the best modification we have made to our Escape Trailer. My only regret is I had ETI install the standard posts on our build sheet. I wish I would have had them give me the table top without the sliding mechanism or the posts installation.

To make the bed, the table comes right off the vertical mount which can be stored under the table with built in dovetail mount. Have used dinette area for bed multiple times. The changeover takes about a minute. Pretty easy after a couple times. As for travel position see pic. Table is resting on cushions with joints locked. Rides great with no stress on the mounting hardware.

Thank you for the information on the sleeves. I called Lagun because the front of our table now drops about an inch and I found plastic dust around my vertical leg sleeve. The lady answering the phone didn't say anything about new sleeves.

I was dubious about mounting the table with a Lagun in my narrow 5.0 SA because it would have to be mounted so far off center, but it works quite well. There was very little foot room with the double post table mounts and the access to the storage under the seats was difficult. Now, the whole floor is available and because the table can be pivoted, access to the storage is no longer a hassle.

I used the same kind of metal brackets as described at the beginning of this thread along with some 3/4” plywood to reinforce the face of the wall and a 4’ piece of 3/4” aluminum angle to reinforce the top edge of it. The space between the battery bank and power center is limited, but everything fit. A few wires were moved a bit to accommodate all the parts.

Like the mods and alterations described on this forum, some things just make life easier and this is one of them.

Does the mounting 3/4" plywood cover the entire rear panel or just the area to the left of the converter?

The 3/4” plywood only covers the area next to the converter and it fits snugly between the 1”x2” frame which borders it on 3 sides. A sheet of 1/4” plywood was placed on top of the 3/4” plywood overlapping the frame creating a “sandwich” that is held together by the bolts that fasten the plate in the front and the brackets in the rear. I still need to add a shim under the front plate to make the table level, but need to get longer bolts to do so.

I had a couple of questions today I will address here:

I attached the angle iron directly to the cabinet framing thru holes in the steel I predrilled. The screws go in horizontally. This has no affect at all on how the seat lid closes. I moved several wire clips - mostly they were reattached to the cabinet framing. I used 1/4in threaded inserts and 1/4in bolts to attach the brackets to the floor. You could use screws if you are careful but plywood is not very strong for screw pullout. I used 3/4in length bolts, the inserts are 1/2” length, and I set them in so the tops were just below the vinyl. I used these: https://www.ezlok.com/ezknife-insert-400-4
