Laundry bag

After months of studying this forum, we're down to one last question before submitting our build sheet. Where does everyone stash their dirty laundry? We're thinking of putting shelves in the wardrobe, leaving the bottom one a bit higher off the floor to leave room for a laundry bag. Does that make sense?

Don't know if this would work on a 5.0, but in our 21 we hang it on a suction hook on the back wall of the bathroom, behind/inboard of the toilet & just move it out temporarily when we take a shower.

The 5er has storage under the hinged steps to the loft. I'm turning one into a laundry hamper.

One of the benefits of viewing a particular model is finding all these lil' quirks of the build!

Here are a couple previous posts on the subject.

http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...inette-14.html. I added an exterior door so I can empty the laundry easily from the outside of the trailer into a basket. This mod has come real handy for the four of us in a 17B

I find storing stuff anywhere on the floor to be ALWAYS in the way in a small space. I start out the road voyage with one overhead cupboard dedicated to dirty laundry. Glad Kitchen Catchers with Odour Guard keeps everything smelling great. As you keep depleting clean clothes another cupboard for storage magically becomes available. Two full overheads = off to the laundromat to take care of important things.

I use a method held over from my tenting days...carry a large tote into my bedroom, load up with clothes, carry it to my truck bed and leave it there. Dirty clothes go into a laundry bag in the bed of the truck and then into the tote when space allows. Carry the tote into the house, dump the laundry bag, empty the tote of still-clean clothes back in the bedroom. I carry a lot of clothes due to the vagaries of weather here in the PNW.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I knew you could help us. Donna D., I think you hit the nail on the head -- having never seen the 5.0 TA (or any Escape) in person, we'd forgotten all about the under step storage. That will work great! Mary

There are actually 2 storage areas under the 5.0 TA steps, the smallest one Reace and Tammy used for shoes, the largest one was being used for water in bottles and a mat, These areas may need to be insulated sometime in the future. I believe there is also room in the loft for dirty clothes, along each side of the bed. Cubbies may be useful up there also.

The bottom step (new 5.0 TA) is a new addition over the Classic. Who knows what space that can hold or even if it's hinged for storage space. I'll find out in less than two weeks! I have four pairs of shoes to find storage for.. slippers (Japanese raised, no shoes in the house; Sorrels, I live in the Pacific NorthWET need waterproof rubber boots!; and extra athletic shoes, wet, grungy, icky; shower shoes.. flip flops!

Hope I can find a great place to hide/store my footwear.

We have always stored ours in a big laundry bag my mom made us from my sisters tent trailer curtains..now we have a very nice one from the Escape Rally---so maybe I won't have to do laundry as often!! Always stays under the bed at the back on the floor--that and the garbage can are usually all that get stored there when we are camping..

Our RV laundry bag is the only item we have left from USAF basic training, almost 40 years ago.

Wonder if something can be done with the storage cabinet next to the door. It only has outside access thru a small door but it's a fairly big area. Maybe a swinging door on the inside at the steps like a laundry chute.

At the Osoyoos Rally, ETI handed out some personalized laundry bags to the attendees.

You got yours personalized I just got a generic one with Escape Trailer on it! How do you rate? Oh, wait, I forgot you now have purchased 4 trailers from them so I guess you do rate a personalized one.

I meant the personalized ETI logo, not individual names and it is only 2 Escapes I have purchased.
