On my Scamp-19 I had 550 nylon cord strung under the upper deck for a clothes line. I did not have to have to take the cord down when traveling it just lived under the deck. One advantage to having a 5er trailer

And the campground police can't bust you for having a visible clothes line (as some do)!! Great idea. Not having a 5.0, we have to hang things on the camp chairs to make drying clothes unobtrusive (doesn't work in the rain though).

You must be camping at different locations than we do. I have never come across a campground where they objected to having visible clothes on a line. Sometimes you are not allowed to tie things to trees but that is to prevent tree damage rather than to limit visibility of clothes drying. But 95% of my camping has been at Provincial and National Park campsites where they may be less stringent than some private campgrounds.

We like these hooks, which slide easily into our awning tube, and work well for towels or clothes.

Depending on the weather, we also have inside-the-camper alternatives for hanging towels.

The problem with the bumper location is half the time it is not in the sun, we just drape any wet things on a chair and move it with the sun....

I used one of these for years on my Scamp. Liked it so much I bought one for Ten Forward. I drilled extra holes through the poles so have additional lines.
And while it's true the rear of the trailer isn't always in the sun (neither is the clothes line at my sticks 'n bricks) everything seems to dry well by the end of the day.
Because I typically back into a site, my laundry isn't flapping in the breeze for everyone to see.
Here's another vendor: https://www.campingworld.com/bumper-...ine-67676.html

Where do you store it when not in use? Does it fit in the TA or do you put it in the bed of the truck?

The poles are aluminum and I just roll the two poles up with the line (attached) and store it next to the mattress in the loft. Because there's a toe board in my Scamp in the kitchen, that's where it's stored in that trailer. I don't want to carry it in the bed of my truck because I think the line would get really dirty. I haven't tried to put it in the compartment under the loft, but I bet it would fit there too.

On the 5.0, we also put ours under the loft. I attached a "rod coupling nut" and an "eye bolt" to two of the frame bolts and stretched a bungee across. Quick and simple, I plan to attach the thermometer outdoor sender unit to the bungee as well, that way it will be removed and not subject to any weather when underway.

We must be weird campers as we use a laundromat for washing clothes every once every 10-14 days.
Well, we have washed the odd small item if needed and dirty. We usually just put up suction hooks on the side under the awning, handy for damp jackets and towels too. We have also attached them under the loft onto the framing a couple times when we had to close the awning.

I use a length of parachute cord, tie one end to the awning pole or door handle, the other to something on the tow vehicle. Then stow the cord, clothes pins and little bottle of laundry soap in "Wall Pockets" in our Casita 17SD.
