Sweet, we just ordered our 21 with the white belly band. ETI gets an extra $50 for that. We also ordered it without graphics. I look forward to the nice clean white look. It should make maintaining it much easier also, no stickers to get in the way, etc,...

Hi Tom,

I like your colors so much I would like to duplicate them on my ordered trailer. You said that the graphics color was dark gray, and I wanted to make sure that it was what they actually call "Dark Gray" and not Battleship or other gray. Also would you be kind enough to provide the details for the silver trim? Thank you for your help.
Dark Gray is correct.

This is the molding I used.

for curiosity has anyone changed the moulding in a 5TA? How much was needed as the main piece is more than 50ft.

I really like the red graphics. Was going to match our blue truck, but can't go wrong with red white & blue. The red & white represent Canada's flag. Our Escape is like me, born in Canada, moving to the USA.

Great deal for Canadians to get a light grey (or other colours) belly band on Amazon.ca. for under $18 Can per 100 ft roll. This might not seem like a big deal for US customers using Amazon.com but for us this is cheap for a US made product.

To get the free shipping I also ordered the Winter “T” valve.

I am delighted to see different colored "Belly Bands". I wonder how many different colors are now on Escapes of all stripes.

Lots. I've now seen green, purple, blue, silver, yellow, etc.

And of course my red, which started the thread. Still looks great.

Yes, your red looks great!
This lighter grey will not match our battleship grey we have ordered to match our truck. However I think it will compliment it more than the stock black or the ETI white offered at $50. Plus we can also put the black back in or in 10 years put the remaining new 50 feet in to clean it up should it get cracked.

That $18 Cdn on Amazon.ca is a great price. I just checked A.com and it's $21.21 there!

I've been looking on line for a purple vinyl belly band, but so far have not found it. Does anyone have a good source?

Can't seem to find the purple anymore on eBay, but it was there awhile back. I did however find several other colors to add to the list, including gold, brown cherry and teal.

Speaking of belly bands: last Spring while we were cruising in Nevada I noticed from my driver's side mirror that the belly band was hanging down by the wheels. Pulled over and it was weird...it had stretched. So wedged it back it from driver's side around to the door and had to cut about 4-5 inches off.

You can just tuck the top or bottom edge in first, then use your finger or thumb to bend the strip into the other channel. Or, you can use a thin plastic tool, which I didn't bother with. Took about 10 minutes. Lots of colors are available. A 50' roll was perfect for the 19, with about 6-7' to spare.

I have my red trim. But looked at the existing piece and some kind of epoxy or silicone was added at the ends. Any guess as to why? I haven't tried removing anything yet- waiting for my pristinely clean and shiny trailer.

Are you talking about epoxy or silicone on the tape roll or the trailer? I'm not tracking.

At the very ends of the band by the door Escape does apply a little bit of white caulk under the little part that holds the ends of the bands in place.

Yeah, if you're talking about the end caps, there is a bit of caulk there. I just removed the screws and pulled the caps. Didn't bother to recaulk them with the new band. By the way, the band should be cut long enough so that the screw that holds the end cap on also goes through the band. It keeps the band from contracting and pulling out from under the caps when it's cold.

Having a bit of trouble applying the new strip. Would letting it soften in the sun help?
