Matching Belly Band

Changed out the black trim for red. I have to say, I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I think it looks fantastic. It even comes close to matching the slightly darker "garnet red" graphics on the trailer.

Where did the trim come from and how hard was it to replace the original?

We also got matching colors - black and black!
(Okay, not much imagination on our part.)

$16 on Ebay. You want the 1" with the profile seen in the link - not the flat kind. Easy peezy to install. Remove two screws holding down the trim end caps on either side of the door, pull the old one out, and insert the new. You can just tuck the top or bottom edge in first, then use your finger or thumb to bend the strip into the other channel. Or, you can use a thin plastic tool, which I didn't bother with. Took about 10 minutes. Lots of colors are available. A 50' roll was perfect for the 19, with about 6-7' to spare.

I like that!
I didn't know about colour choices other than black and white, either. Red wouldn't be my personal choice, but I would certainly rather have this strip matched to the stripes of the graphics - in my colour - than black. Unfortunately that particular eBay vendor only offers black, white, red, and silver in the 1" width.

Yeah, you have to do some hunting around for all the colors. Since you mentioned silver, I'll bet that would look really sharp on an Escape with silver graphics.

Robert, I really like the red belly band on your trailer. I've heard there are those of the fairer sex who change shoes, purses, and other accessories regularly. Perhaps it's time for some of us to get multiple belly bands to change with the season, campground, football team we support, whatever. Even those people who use their Escape as a hunting base camp, they'd surely go for a camo look! Another millionaire waiting to be made.
