Just do the floor for the beauty and warmth. Wolf will obviously do a great job.

Just wondering if Reace would substitute cork flooring on my 21 if I sent him the material. I lived in an apartment with cork floors, and put cork floors in my last home's bathroom renovation. Great floor material - doesn't get cold or hot, sound insulating, and great with bare feet.

I'm sure he would, but is it available there. You pick out counter top colors and formica at Home Depot and he will install, but I think it has to be something he can get locally.

He balked when I told him it took me 10 hours, but that included tearing out of the old and releveling the floor, remove and replace screen door and trim, plus do two layers. Seeing he has to level the floor, and do the trim work anyway, to do a single layer glue-down (which I would highly recommend in this application) cork floor might take 2 hours, plus another hour or so do do a few coats of polyurethane to finish and waterproof it.

Maybe Jim Bennett can address this, but, I believe the vinyl flooring is laid down prior to the installation of "furniture". There might be an issue, if there is damage to the cork flooring in the future. It might be more difficult to re-cover or repair. My buddy, Keath, specified the vinyl flooring used in his 19, and although Reace was reluctant to install it, he did. ( it was a very expensive, commercial flooring ).

You are right Glenn, it extends from wall to wall prior to installation of walls.

A glue-down cork would be very easy to repair. You could carefully redo one tile, whereas vinyl is not so easy. Personally, I would definitely get an upgraded vinyl at a minimum, but would do cork anyways if I ever got a new trailer.

Could you glue the cork tiles right over the new vinyl?

The cork supplier strongly suggested not to do this, and to go back to bare plywood. OSB is not good to glue to either, though not an issue in Escape trailers. I found the vinyl poorly bonded over most of the floor too, which would have made for a poor substrate.
I also wanted to shed a bit of weight by removing the vinyl.
