I love my 1UP-USA rack! Speaking of lights, one can now get a lighted license plate holder for the bike rack. It is also a bit pricey at $80+ but since I use a cover on my bike that blocks the plate and lower tail lights, it is worth it to me. (and yes, I have a real plate. The cardboard one was just for trial after the install.)

Looking good Scott! Portable solar plug a great idea; like the new exhaust fan vent too.

I stole this idea from someone else on the forum, but simply pressing a 15A blade fuse into the 7-pin plug to jump slot 3 (running lights) with slot 4 (12V charging) accomplishes the same thing (except being able to switch it from inside).

It’s on passenger side front, runs directly into the solar controller which is in the passenger side front bench.

In my 2017 17b, the license plate is non-LED, so if that's the case with your newer 19, then most of that power is likely being drawn by that one bulb. I was thinking of replacing mine with an LED.

That light runs off your tow's battery, not the trailer's.

The licence plate is connected to the running lights, so if you connect +12 to the running lights at either the 7 pin connector or internally via a switch, then the licence plate light will run from the trailer battery.

Does anyone know when escape started using LED's in the running lights?

I have no idea what a +12 is, sorry. What an I missing, and what does it do?

I'm pretty sure that was shorthand for 12V positive.

If so, why would you do this? Is this something to do with that craziness of making your trailer look like a Christmas tree. If this is the case, I still don't understand.

Could use some Spanish translation too. Currently in Puerto Vallarta.

Wow! Outstanding. My wife's whole side of the family lives there.

I'm assuming you are spending the majority of your time in water or AC? Dang hot down there, even for a Texan.

I did learn to not drink a king sized Margarita (not shy on booze either) at noon, then go walking in the midday sun.

Water is a good thing. Doing not to bad with the heat otherwise. Mornings and evenings are tolerable.

Yes, +12 means +12 volt, and it does makes your trailer look like a Christmas tree like the picture in post #75. sclifrickson indicated that the current was measured via a Trimetric, so I figured the runnings lights were being powered through the trailer battery.

The license plate bulb is a wedge type led replacement, same as the hood type wedge. I believe between 2012 and 2014 was the year of led marker conversion because on my 2012 I had to replace my stock with led and on my 2014 since I did not want to drill out rivets for bulb replacement I had Escape install the old style incandescent base with led bulbs. Reace said he had some of the old style still in stock. Since then all the lights, except for the license have been led, marker and tail lights. The reason why some want their unit to be visible at night is for safety reasons while on the road, particularly at rest areas, just like the big rigs.
