Molded Hard Plastic 14" Spare Tire Cover

Hey,

Has anyone here dealt with either of these companies ?

Molded Tire Cover For 14" Tires

Molded Plastic Spare Tire Covers For RVs And Trailers By Surplus Online

I want to use one as I can have custom graphics done easier and or changed if I do not like it vs a vinyl cover. I will do a custom secure mount so it won't walk away so no worries there.

Hey Donna,

Thanks, I am not a fan of that style the one piece is easier to have customized with a wrap then the 2 piece according to the guys who make the wraps. The trim ring would wear on the wrap and ruin it, food for thought if anyone is considering the two piece and want to do a custom design wrap. It does make sense vibrations and such along with tire pressure variances due to temp would make the ring loosen now and then allowing it to shift around.

You're right about the wrap, but I was thinking more along the lines of a decal. I'm going to wait until the provided spare tire cover wears out before I make a change. YMMV

Here's mine that I got from RV Surplus. Spendy, but we like it. The graphic was done locally and applied to the PVC dish. It can be peeled off at any time. I also made another one from plywood that works just as well.
