New front dinette shelf

I love all the custom mods I see others sharing on the forum, but . . . I'd rather be out camping, and especially since I lost the sight of one eye a few years ago, my own handyman/woodworking has pretty much dried up (can't hammer a nail or cut a straight line anymore).
But every once in along while I have to tackle some (what used to be) simple projects. Case in point: Our 17B was the bunk model, which we disassembled, leaving behind some ugly holes where the bunk was mounted, that Wendy bugged me to hide before we went on our next trip.
Here's my shelf for catching/caching those little bits that otherwise would end up on top of the wardrobe, and hiding the bunk mounting holes in the process.
I thought I was so smart and made it wide enough to set a glass of beer on for while we're sitting in the front dinette . . . except I forgot forgot to consider the lip of the front window! Oh well, back to the drawing board.

What about hanging some sort of cup holder off the edge of the shelf? I'm sure there's something out there that would work for ya, instead of making the whole thing again.

Yeah, I would have wanted those holes covered up as well, as they would have bugged me.
