They may work if the holes line up, but they aren't quite the same. The hinge pin is lighter duty and the entire hinge looks thinner vs the ones we all picked up from the first link. Those look machined/forged.

It would be really nice to find out where Western Hardware got the hinges. That vendor may not retail, but could perhaps give info where the hinges could be purchased.

O my goodness! If you had reacted a little earlier, I could have ordered the hinges for you. We just have friends going to Friesland to visit family. They could have dropped the hinges off at your doorstep.

They made them special for a large order and had some overage.

Hi guys,

It has been about 2 years, time flies when you are having fun.

Sorry to hear about the sold out hinges, the current ones still functions but they do not look new and shiney anymore😪

As for the stories, you’re right but there’s not much to tell, we have been to Tuscany for our vacantion for the last years, so pic.s would all look the same but if you guys are interested, i’ll be happy to post a few.
Furthermore we us the 5.0 for weekends of to makeshift campings during rock and roll all weekend parties, no pretty sceneries theré or it must be you’re interested in people dressed up in 50’s outfits.

Let me know, i will gladlypostsome pictures of upcoming events.

Cheers!

Ohh, that is a shame. Nice of you to think about this.

Did your friends had a good trip?

Cheers

They are not back yet. Left here on Monday. If you see some "strange looking friesians" wandering around, it's probably them. They stay for 10 days

Update 7/6

From Dave at Western Hardware.

"So I've been thinking about how to do this.

I have 8 total that I polished. I am probably going to release 2 at a time 1 time per day. I am not going to do it at the same time. I don't want one person buying all 8 or 2 sets for themselves.

We aren't going to take any phone-in orders for these at all. More people want them, then I have stock so this is the most fair idea I could come up with.

If they are from Canada, they have to get a US PO Box because of the amount of time it takes to fill out the customs paperwork. We are getting a lot of calls for this everyday and this isn't what we normally do. We are primarily a Business 2 Business Manufacturer & Distributor.

Bad news on the new stock as well. The other company that made these, discontinued them as well.

Thanks for everything Bob. Best wishes to you.

-Dave "

Hmmm, I have a set in the garage I bought when Pat first found them that I haven't installed yet. Who's willing to start the bidding at $1000 US? I'll include shipping.
Just kidding, these are priceless.......

Thank goodness we have them all I can say. I have the 2 nd replacement pair if any one can use , just pay for shipping . I had to pay 60 from Tammy when I saw the originals were not holding up . So I was on a mission to find something better . If yours are in real bad shape you can have these , just shipping . Our stainless still look brand new so have no need for the originals . Pat

You found a gem when you came up with these, Pat. Thanks again. Someone will snap those up from you fast.
In AZ our originals still look great so not in a rush to replace them and getting as much mileage out of the stock. I will swap them out soon though.

Dave at Western Hardware looked up the original invoice for these hinges, guess who, Escape. From what he could find out from an old timer, Escape used these in the the early 2000's then changed to the chrome. Supposedly these are the leftovers from when Escape wanted for them in SS.

They've been on the shelf a long time.

Those look much like the same ones I posted about (post #40) except they were only $8.95.
Sure wish we could fine the discontinued ones as they looked nicer.
