As I inch forward I can see that a huge majority of folks stop at the booth, some booths seem to be slower than others, but usually the average stop is measured in seconds or a couple of minutes. With my Nexus card I've had a couple of crossings where it was more like a rolling stop. So, aside from issues relating to bringing in restricted produce etc. or firearms, which are almost a universal consideration, the border's part of travelling. Travelling always has some unknowns, accept that, move on and enjoy new adventures.

The "slider mechanism" Escape uses is just a piece of plywood with some plastic rails on it, and the corresponding plastic rails mounted to the underside of the table. To install the Springfield, you just remove the sockets from the plywood (from the original sockets and poles mounting) and attach the pedestal to the plywood. The factory plywood base was the perfect size for the Springfield pedestal top, being a couple inches larger all the way around. The sliders remain intact. This means you can now not only slide the table, but rotate it.

The slider does work, but i'm not fussy on the way the slider locks into place with the screw knob.

This is the first one i seen with both the slider and Springfield base
Do you feel its sturdy with the large table? I seen some post where they felt it was better suited for the U shapes smaller table.

so to understand this correctly, the table will still slide back and forth on the escape base and also rotate on the Springfield base ?

I feel it's as stable as any of the tables we've had in our other two trailers.
One trailer had the double tube and the other was like the Snap 2 that we had in our Rpod. We haven't had any real camping experience in the Escape, yet, as we've just took delivery a few weeks ago.

It's a good thing it does shift from side to side, because we'd never fit in on that drivers side of the table, and i'm not a big guy. Guess the kids will sit on that end. It rotates on the springfield base. Does work like a charm and happy that we went this route, but i'll have to come up with another way to lock the slide.

Bakes99, The hooks with the shelf are nice! And thanks for the pics. I'm particularly interested in the table support....you have a 19, right? The online pictures show the table with two supports. Were you able to replace the two with only one adjustable? That would be great for me.

I told ETI to omit the double tube support for the table from the build and that I would be bringing the pedestal with me for orientation day for them to install. (this was also stated on the build sheet). This way there would be no defect in the flooring from the stock system they normally install. I have the 19 and the single pedestal is quite stable. I can’t speak for their double tube setup or how solid that system is. They just kept the tubes, don’t even know where they are, not that I would have any use for them.

I can. Ours was quite wobbly. The Springfield is more stable.

The dinette in the 17 is 52" long, which by the online measurements is 8" more than the dinette in the 19. Dare I go to one pedestal with that span?

Yes. The Springfield will handle the table just fine, provided it's mounted correctly. There is no wobble in the base at all. Any wobble will be a product of the "slop" in the sliders.

You could also use the Lagun mounting system, although with the stock benches (no u-shape) it's a little more challenging to find a suitable mounting location.

Be aware that with the stock larger dinette in the 17, you'll have to mount the Springfield so that the table isn't touching the back wall. The back wall curves in slightly as you go down, and the table needs to clear the curve in order to lower it to make the bed. Also, because the table back corners are relatively close to the back wall, and the sliders will go left and right, you will probably lose the ability to rotate the table, because the back corners would hit the wall when rotated.

I think the Springfield is very nice with a U-shaped dinette, but perhaps less so with the stock layout.

Bakes 99... I cannot find the nifty 3 hook / mini shelves you installed on the Lowe’s or Staples website. Do you have a web link? I would like to get the same ones for the door way. They look great!

Seems interesting that ETI waits until orientation to do this install, why not do it before the orientation? Why at orientation?

Fred I will get in touch with you one of these days.

Be definitely the way to go if you live in the US. Not sure it’s available with amazon.ca.

Escape would have the trailer changed so our size would not matter. You can ask them their table leg length for your trailer which could be different from another model. The place we bought from no longer sells them and I can only show you a photo. We saw them in someone's Oliver.

As others have mentioned, we took it with us and they installed it while we were taking care of the paperwork. I don’t think they want it shipped directly to them.

Yes, and some items they provide, but want exact location before installation. The swing television bracket was held until orientation.

Started off the things being installed were not available from ETI so folks would bring them up themselves to save on the high shipping costs. A few of the item like Umbra hooks were placed where the new owners wanted them. Anything you folks think you may want to have ETI install at pickup should be cleared with them, a lot has changed lately.
