When I bought my trailer a few years back, I covered the fridge panel right away because I wanted the fridge to go with the stainless cooktop. I used a textured plastic wall panel from Lowes - Home Depot and plastic shops carry similar products. Most of the cabinetry is paper-faced so painting is not recommended. The doors themselves could be but painted or re-stained but that would visually chop up the space. Pretty well anything you did, be it paint or contact paper will require care and could damage the cabinetry especially if you had to remove it later.

Thinking the best rule of thumb here is, do no harm... or nothing you can't easily reverse when you get tired of the new look.

Those folks do some really strange mod's. My favorite was the orange walls and lava lights.

There are some bizarre - and some spectacular, some amusing, some surprising - interiors in all brands of moulded fiberglass trailers. Casita, but also Scamp, Boler, and others. I think Escape interiors are relatively conservative because even the oldest Escape is only a decade or so old, while there are trailers of other brands which are up to four decades old and had a chance to get worn out and find owners who see them as raw material to express their ideas.

Has anyone put in a real metal panel that magnets will stick to? Our fan hood is getting very crowded with magnets.

Yes. Bought a galvanized sheet and placed it in a frame and used 3M picture Velcro to hang it. Will post a picture if you want.

It would need to be non-stainless steel (like Tim and Julie's galvanized sheet), or enough thickness of the right (for this purpose) stainless alloy.

I haven't done this yet, but I would consider a magnetic whiteboard - a steel-backed white surface that can be written on with dry-erase markers.

Thanks for offering. I was thinking in reference to the fridge door.

That would work, not sure I want white. I guess a sheet of paintlock steel would be good, ferrous so magnets would stick, and preprimed.

Have to paint it, not sure I am that good at paining, and have to have it cut to size. I do know a place here in town with a shear.

Has anyone found a USA source to purchase the oak plywood on cabinets walls and the plastic 'L' ( 1"x1/4") that you find on the bottom edge of cabinets?

This is for a 2014 19 footer, I guess it's the same in other models too?

I am doing some cabinet work and need materials. Tried to talk Irma into paint ... but she wants to keep it stock.

I just use red oak with a water based polyurethane finish for any of my trailer mods. There's lot's of variation in the wood pieces already and I'd rather use "real" oak stock and plywood.

Here's what oak looks like on my raised dinette project. Seems to fit in quite well.

What I bought and framed would work in the fridge door. The galvanized could easily be painted or just clear coated if you like the galvanized look. Works great for holding magnets.

That looks great Ron! Thank you.

Did you add any brown tints to the red oak? I'm working under the refrigerator so it's all some kind of printed wood or plastic.

The inner edges of the openings are lightly painted brown and I went to my paint store and got a pint of touchup. The color seems to be predominantly brown but doesn't clash with any of red oak in the cabinets (like under the sink and oven).

The printed grain pattern is compatible with the oak and I see reds in much of it. It is also used on thin plastic 'L' and 'dimensional' like under the refrigerator.

Any matching tricks are appreciated!

Just remember, not all refrigerator doors are flat. The one in Ten Forward is curved. They got the panel in, so I'm sure it could be replaced, but with something that is pretty bendable.

Hi Donna!

I thought I saw somewhere else on the Forum who manufactures the interior 'wood' products, and what's the pattern name, but I can't find it.

Do you know what company sells 'painted' (printed) products for RV interiors? Like the paneling and edge trim.

Dang, I can't find it either. And sorry, no. I don't know who manufacturers the interior paneling for RVs. Maybe we'll both find out!
