The best reason for me to use a paper towel holder... I always know where it is! If it's loose, I'll lose it... like it's never where I expect it to be... YMMV

a nekkid roll won't stand up in the wind, or when its getting down in size. it takes two hands to pick it up, find the end, and tear off a sheet when its naked, you can do that one handed when its on a post with a heavy base... usually when I want a paper towel, my other hand is holding something that needs wiping off

Myron did you make the oak mounting block or did it come with the holder? It looks like you made and notched it to fit nicely. I’m woodworking challenged

This is the one we installed in our 5.0, it is just to the left of the entrance door. We haven't used it yet, so far the towels were just left on the counter. I think we will be happy with the location. It is "simplehuman Wall Mount Paper Towel Holder" Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I mounted my Walmart paper towel holder just inside the door of my 19. This way I can get a sheet from the outside by just siding open the screen door handle hatch and not the whole screen door.

Dianne I made the mounting block. It also gives more top clearance when a full roll is loaded. The notch adds stability. This location keeps the roll handy but well out of the way.

Mine is over the sink, making it easy to reach from both inside & out.

John, you are correct, but the paper towel holder has three pieces. A mounting bracket, the paper towel holder and the decorative cover that locks all three together.

To change the roll, I pull the cover off, slide the paper towel holder down and out of mounting bracket and install a new roll.

I've used this in my Casita and now my Escape. Simple, cheap and works.

Offered by Interdesign and comes in white or black.

As we don't care fir the unsightliness of a roll of paper towel hanging in the open all the time, for 10 years now we have used one that hooks over a cabinet door. It is mostly left hanging inside either an upper cabinet or the door under the sink. Then there it is super easy to access and is out of sight. Easy to put on the outside of any cabinet door if you need it more accessible.

Paper towel just ain't pretty. In out of the last 100 kitchens I have built, there are maybe two paper towel rolls visible all the time. Many use a vertical stand that can be put away.

Our paper towel holder is mounted to the sink side of the range hood
Reinforced the range hood and bolted it in place with a couple of 8x32 SS screws

I don't know, Jim. When you google paper towel holder art you get some real purty ones.
