I purchased a led pushbutton 12v lighter switch for ease of power on/off being closer to aisle. Speakers are on the overhead shelf held by stickum tape. Antenna is next to radio. These radios are made to be mounted on motorcycles so they are waterproof and heady duty.
Hi cpaharley, I like your radio system you had on the 19'. How did you end up liking it after having it a while? thanks. j

Thanks very much for the reply. I take that as a good endorsement! j

Yes, this will be my third one, really like the radio, you will need the 6" side mount- antenna sold by Jensen- Jan139 -$30 and speakers or bluetooth set up

We also purchased the JHD910BT and had Reace install it in our 19' picked up in April 2013. Reace also installed a power on/off switch beside the radio and an antenna that is hidden within the walls of the Escape. So far we have been happy with this radio, however, I have found that we are usually busy with other activities and spend less time listening to it than was originally expected.

Thanks Jim and Dave for the replies. After seeing Jim's plug in system, a built in solution never even crossed my mind. I can imagine pros and cons for both options.

As I've mentioned many times before, I really know very little about anything...I only have a vague idea of what bluetooth is. Gives me something else to think about - speakers or bluetooth, plug in or built in..... j

I hear you. We had a stereo installed, and have used it a few times, but not very much at all. Too much other stuff going on, and we are not in the trailer all that often.

Here is the speaker I just received
Amazon.com: The Oontz Angle Ultra-portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker: MP3 Players & Accessories
it should work with both your radio and your IPhone

I leave the weather alert "on" so it will automatically alert you if there is trouble brewing in your area.

In ten years, when audio, video and holograms are being delivered by a plasma array, will the new receiver required fit in the hole?

Texting is the bane of communication. I basically text with my daughter and half the time I don't know what she's saying, and can't reply in any detail or with nuance without wearing my fingers out.
Imagine the wayward threads if we had chips in our heads.

Single-din and double-din receivers have been an automotive standard for some time. That being said, when the technology changes, as it inevitably will, and there's no longer any requirement for a physical receiver, any hole left in the cabinet can be cleverly disguised using some ingenuity.

I text a lot with work. It is a great way to send information like addresses, phone numbers, window size, number of 2x4s needed, etc. Where it gets bothersome is when some people want to try to carry on a conversation, a place where phones do work better.

Hi: Jim Bennett... Does this mean he'd be a "block off the old chip"? Alf
