Today I started my latest modification, an outside step light and some new found storage. The underbed 12v was the source of power and removing the lower cubby panel opened up a large storage for 2-3 pairs of slippers/shoes.

Installed some trim around opening and a piece of carpet inside to finish off the slipper hole...

modifications

I believe that is a early cordless drill.
Jim, what did you use to cut the hole, I usually work with metal and wood tools are not that common in my shop.

I used this, Sears.com. The hand drill is an antique, but it works like a charm for precise drilling with small bits. BTW, I have my Dad's first electric drill, Craftsman model #0001, s/n 0003.

Yes it is. Made in Germany, well made, very precise and old. I have owned this since a child. It is a portable drill before batteries were used.
