The lights draw from .3 amps to .1 from high to low. I'll have to wait til tonite to test them completely. But with that small draw they could be left on while parked at a rest stop for extra security at night time. For truck stops I bought 2 of these to stick on the bumper or for a roadside emergency. Thanks for showing awning LED light pictures. It looked very nice. I discovered that the HD carries mounting channel which looks very similar to earlier posting. The width is 10mm.
6 feet long for $4.27. They are located at the LED light section. The Sku # is 406171.

Yes, they are $9/each but $32 for 3, so I guess the bag costs another $5?

Took some more pictures as it got darker, these show both the low and high outputs. The first two was with the awning closed, the last two had the awning partially opened. Really pleased with the results.

Hi Jim,
Your Awning light is very nice. I like it and am considering buying from the same vendor. I would like your feed backs on followings: How well is the strip light backing adhere to the channel? Is the inner surface of the channel flat or curved? Is the light bright enough at night since the strip light is not a 5050 product? Thanks.

The channel has VHB tape on it's back so once down it's down. I started at the rear about 4" in from the awning and ended up about 4" in from the front, 12' total. The light strip is sealed at both ends with a cap and it also had vhb tape. But the channel is "C" with a flat back and once you start it snaps in easily and seats itself against the rear. I only pulled enough tape cover off to install about 18" each time, leaving the rest of the tape cover on since I did not want it to inadvertently stick to something else while hanging. The light is very bright, enough to read by and also very dim, just enough to leave on all night without being intrusive to those around you.

I installed some rv gutters over the rear escape window as well as drilled some holes to allow any water to drain. Also noticed water was getting inside the refer vent, no harm there is a drain inside. Had to reverse that one since the vent needs to be removable. Did one over the baggage hatch also, strictly precautionary measures.

I also removed the top refer control panel and sealed that area with some foam pipe insulation doubled up.

I also wanted to show my "travel" safety catch as well as demonstrate the 2 refer door catch options to allow opening without top button and keep it open for storage reasons.

There has been some discussion regarding the installation of solar panels and whether or not they should be bonded (VHB tape, epoxy) or mechanically fastened. It looks like RV gutters would make good air foils if installed in front of the panel(s). Anybody try it? It may mitigate some of the anxiety over the panels lifting during prolonged highway speeds.
Any thoughts?

Jim, could you please identify the products you used? One item looks like a child safety catch. Would like to do something similar. Thanks. T

Jim, so the insulation pipe into the fridge-will that help you think with the cooling? Also I like your "round tuit" sign!

Ok what 2 options? I know of the one on the door latch listed in the manual. How does the one on the light work?
Also how do you release the control panel to get it to come off?
