Power Reclining Bed modification

Camping is spending lots of time outside, exploring, hiking, cooking, relaxing so I know the first question is “Why would you want a reclining bed?” . There are times when we have hook-ups and in the evening we enjoy a little TV later in the evening, I am also a huge F1 fan and on the rare occasion I am able to watch the race.

We all know how awkward and uncomfortable propping a pillow up against the wall is, and those blind cord anchors can be a real pain in the back. Finally I must confess the real reason is the “Cool Factor”, being able to push a button while laying in bed and get lifted into a perfect TV viwing position, this mod is just so cool.

I am writing up full details on how I did this mod which I will post as soon, but to show what it does here is a short video

Does it have a manual override?

LOL, that had also crossed my mind
The control box has up down functions but if there is a control box failure then the actuators are easily disconnected from the lower brackets by removing a pin

We'll have to get that next!

You actually point up one of the big advantages of the 21' over the 19' for those considering both. People like to say that the 19' bed is tucked away, but in the 21', we have no window at our backs, as right now. We can use big pillows or not as there is a plain wall at our backs with no window in the way. It seems to me that this is more tucked away because of that.

I still have to send for one of those keychains with the 19' and 21' as we have had both!

Hi: Ian G... NICE!!! Be just my luck to get sand wedged in there on the up swing... Been there done that. I thought it was an inflatable option. Alf

Great mod , I'll be interested in seeing your detailed write-up.

Could have used it for the Monaco race. There we were at the BC Eggs meet, at 4:00 in the morning propped up on pillows watching the race.

Great race today, not the blood bath everyone was expecting.
