yes it illuminates when switched ON.... just pointing out that the packaging as pictured and the website page Part Number listing does not say what the voltage rating for the internal illumination components are... 12v , 120v , or something else...all the other switches on this specific website page do list this internal illumination component rating. All the switches can switch ac or dc (specs on page left) between the contacts, but the voltage rating for the internal illumination components is listed on the page right in the Part Number listing (as well as the Title for each switch). Since your requirement is for 12v operation (not 120v) , by connecting battery positive to POWER terminal and battery negative to GROUND terminal...it will probably illuminate when switched ON.

Yeah, the website isn't clear. But, it's identical to the switches that are currently in the trailer - same brand, housing, size, shape, everything - except for the illumination part. Swapping the switch itself is a snap - literally. Remove the white one from the housing by pushing it from the back, and snap the new one in.

I guess what threw me was the third terminal - not understanding at the time that the light within the switch won't work unless that terminal is connected to a ground wire.
