That was a good idea to raise it. The height of the average Canadian woman is 5'2" and such a person's eye level would be at the bottom of the window. The middle of the window is what someone might want to aim for. That would be a big improvement to us also to have the area raised.

In my Escape 19 I had ETI make the cushions 2" thicker for the front dinette, it helped a lot!!

That seems like the easiest fix.

When we eat, we have no issue with getting a good view. Could be 'cause we are outside maybe. If temps go below freezing, or if it is howling winds and rain, we eat inside, but have never really found issue with the window height. I am 6'0", but my 5'4" wife has no complaints either.
Again, this is one of those things where we all have different styles of camping, and if raised does work better for you, by all means do it. I just commented, because some are making it sound like it is something everyone should do, and I don't believe this is true.

It wouldn't be very hard to make a bump up seat under the cushion(s) if one thought it was needed.

I feel really fortunate. I think I've physically been inside every possible Escape build model. I'm not tall, just average. 5'7", but with long legs. I have a 34" inseam. Which makes my torso, short. I haven't noticed a big problem seeing out of the front dinette models. Maybe I wasn't paying attention because I was in awe of the whole trailer.
I can see a problem raising the dinette seats... and then the legs dangle. That would be uncomfortable, pressure on the backs on the thighs.. feet go to sleep. But maybe, just maybe... raising the seats and getting "floor" rests would work rather than building up the floor? Floor rests work for many of my cube-farm co-workers.
Whatever you do, the trailer must be comfortable for you. ABSOLUTELY.

The amount we raised height is perfect our legs do not dangle . No one is suggesting if you are happy to raise your dinette . The info was for anyone who is unhappy . It is a very simple fix . We tried adding cushions that did not feel right . We thought sharing your mods was ok . Some people even change their floors . Mods are making your trailer more comfortable for you and are fun to do .

OK? I certainly appreciate your input. It's been helpful to me, and improved the way I'm going about raising our dinette. Don't let these naysayers give you any trouble. We'll just sit, or slouch, in our 19s, watch 'em go by, and be proud of our mods. If it wasn't for the tinted windows they could look in and see our ear to ear smiles.
Thanks.

What I read was that the "naysayers" were suggesting that this mod may not be an improvement for everybody. That one should sit in the trailer and decide, rather that decide based on the experience of others.
The mod posts were part of a conversation, as were the warnings to consider.
And, labels, such as "naysayers" are not helpful or conductive to civil discussion.

One should also note that the trailers have evolved over the years. I'm not sure that the exact same windows are used in all the 19s over the years.
My 17 has a sliding front window with rock guard that the manufacturer stopped making. Later 17s don't have that sliding front window, but the two windows either side open ( mine don't ).
The window in the 19 may also have changed over the years, so one person may be talking apples and another oranges.

My 19 has the front slider, a dual glazed window. It was one of the last before having to go with the single pane unit. We never have had need to open it, but really like the insulation value.

I was supporting Pat. I sensed he felt criticized for his contributions, and I want his continued participation. I apologize if it came through differently.
