Actually Escape supplied the 30/15 amp cord converter in my 2012 "starter kit" option. Essential piece of kit when your driveway camping at friends & family across the country and discover that very few houses exterior plugs have the 30A configuration. The Polar Cub Air or Heat strip runs nicely on that amperage as long as someone doesn't try to make toast on the same circuit.

To conclude on the economics of power cords, rather than opting for a removeable power cord I would put the money toward a 30 amp extension. Then you are set for all conditions. Who knows, maybe you never even have to pull the standard cord out from under the dinette.

We have used a 30-amp extension many times. Also have the 30/15 which would be rarely needed but when you need it, you really need it and it doesn't cost much.
