Jamie order the stove with a cover and the counter extension. If the stove was by the door the steam from cooking in big pots will go out the door if open. We really like the oven which we used on every camping trip we made corn bread, baked a cake, baked scones and a pizza. My wife liked the dishwasher but he did not work all the time. For big pans he washed them outside at the outdoor shower.
You should ask Tammy at the factory, location ideas of appliances.

Reversing the stove and sink

I stumbled across this 5 yest old thread and was wondering: Does ETI still offer this as an option? Can you eliminate the stove hood if you make this switch? Can it be done even with the oven option? If anyone with a 21 or 5.0 has done this, how has it worked out? Photos please.

When I tried to do a search on this topic I did find another thread where the OP asked the same question but within a response or two the topic was hijacked or diverted to who should be the starting goalie for the Saskatoon Blades.

I eliminated the stove hood in 2 of my 3 Escapes and reversed the stove top and sink in one of them. The oven option I only had in my 21 and it had to be over the rearward wheel well.

There has been quite a few different threads on this topic. As usual, the group is divided on this issue.

I don't think eliminating the range hood is an issue for ETI, but once again, it's an issue that the group has two points of view on.

Personally the stove next to the door wouldn't work for me. I'd be afraid that I'd come in, reach out my arms to take off a jacket etc. and knock a pot off the stove. I'd rather have the stove further away from the highest traffic area. OK, now you'll hear from those folks that love the stove by the door.

Threads hijacked? I'm shocked.

Im with Ron I like the idea of the stove away for the door/high traffic area, plus I like the sink close to the door as its easy to put dishes etc in if cooking and eating outside. Others have different wants/needs so its a personal decision from my point of view.

Cheers

Same here. The stock layout with the sink by the door works best for us. We also have a range hood, which I modified with the SAM-1 retrofit so it works extremely well and is almost silent. Another reason to go with the stock arrangement.

We had a combination sink/stove in our 19 with the sink on the right. We always felt that this layout was backwards. When I built the galley in the 5.0TA we made sure the sink was by the door.
