Screen room for new Dometic awning?

Has anyone found/made a good screen room that work with the new Dometic awning in the '17 ?
If so, can you share some pics?

Can you shut off the auto-retract feature? If not this could get really ugly with too much breeze.........

You can just shutoff the awning master switch next to the door.

I wonder if the awning can support a screen room without the additional structure of the arms that I have on my Carefree Fiesta. I think the screen room actually helps hold down my awning in a wind by preventing the wind from getting under it. Not sure I'd want to be the one to test the new awning with a screen room.

It looks like it'd be possible to add a support arm on the outside of the awning faceplate. I've not seen one in person and I'm going from very bad pictures of what's available on the forum, but I think I could add a eye bolt through which I could pass the point of an adjustable arm that could be tied down using standard tent stakes.

Just sayin'...but without actually layin' hands on it, I'm only guessing. Maybe someone with the actual awning has already done this and could jump in here with a comment?

I keep looking at these and see several that show an awning piece that attaches once then is used to hang and provide stability for the outer two corners but can’t seem to find any info on how they attach to the side of the trailer! Suction cups? Bungy cords? Surely nothing that would be permanent, but enough to keep the smarter bugs out! Anyone know a website or have a picture?

I think the additional weight of the screen room. would prohibit the use with the automatic awning. That is why several owners use Clam style pop up shelters. I believe the screen room weight is 30-40 lbs, something those arms are not designed for.

If you type "Clam" into the Google Search Site box on this forum and on FGRV, you should find a gazillion posts about the Clam shelter.

I went with the smaller size after trying to operate the larger one by myself. The smaller is a lot more manageable yet we still have a table and 2 chairs and dogs inside. Plus it can fit inside the 19 hatch.

Have the Clam EscapeXL. Very creative engineering which makes setup and breakdown a breeze. It packs to 78"x10"x10". My daughter does not have an Escape but she does have this same Clam. My Son in law can deploy or strike this unit in well under two minutes. They haul it in the back of their Pathfinder. 6 adults with lawn chairs, a folding table for snacks, a cooler and the campfire in a can in the middle on low. 46 degrees F, no wind, no bugs, " Hey look, Dad's sleeping in his chair, again." " Leave him alone, he gets surly if you wake him."

We carry a large Clam and an ETI supplied screen room for our old style awning - very nice to have when the bugs are bad....Norma won't leave home without them

It looks like the Dometic Veranda Room might work for the new awning - it has a fitting that connects the rafters and vertical leg and supports the awning rail.
One issue is it's designed for the 8' extension awnings on bigger rigs - end panels might be too wide.

This is our current screen room, a Wenzel Biscayne model 36160. It's 14' x 12'. It's our best so far, being the third one we've tried. These were taken at last years Osoyoos Rally. This is reasonably easy to set up, though I'm looking closely at a Clam.
