Shoe Storage

We decided that the under bed storage doors would be good for shoes using the door by the bathroom and our rolled up RV Superbag inside the door at the base of the bed. We quickly discovered that shoes disappeared inside the "shoe pit" so we needed a solution. Container Store's Elfa basket came to the rescue. With the sliding rack mounted on a 2 x 2 screwed to the floor we had just the correct clearance for the basket to slide in and out the door. We mounted so old 16" wire shelving to isolate that area from the outdoor access area. Now a package of toilet paper can fit forward of the basket and 2-3 rolls of paper towels aft. Finding shoes is no longer an issue. While the mattress is out getting it's cover made we also hinged the part of the bed base over the water heater to allow for easier maintenance access.

We do the same thing with a Bankers box with the front cut off.

Same idea, but ours is plastic to hold muddy shoes and rinse out when needed.

Great idea for using the wire shelving and adding hinges for access. Pat

Just remember that there is only one ideal place for a nice built in electric heater and that is in that corner in your 21, it saves on your propane use as well as heats the bathroom. I found that the cubbies were ideal for shoes and even cut out one at the bottom as it is wasted space.

Since I only have one pair of shoes , I store them on my feet.
** I do own a pair of hunting boots but I don't take them camping.**
We tend to keep the clothing we take camping to a bare minimum.

Steve has a lot of bare footprints around his campsite, not to be confused with bear footprints...

No need for a built in electric heater for our 21. Our portable ceramic heater works just fine, and we can move it around the trailer with no issues. It allows great flexibility to be used where it is needed. It warms our feet in the dining area in addition to warming up the bathroom.

Just "point and heat"!

Yeah, but I would rather have a more finished look myself.

Yeah, however it is out of sight and easy to access- you don't have to pull it all the way out to reach something in the back. Works for us.
